Patrick Yoshikatsu Kaya, 92, of Wahiawa passed away on November 10, 2017. He was born in Spreckelsville, Maui. He was a Korean War Veteran with 27 years of service in the Army. Pat is survived by his wife, Patsy (Toba), a sister, Jane Kurisu, of Wailuku, Maui, and was predeceased by brothers Setsu and Masa and sister Sally (Kaya) Inouye. Pat is also survived by three children, Kevin, of Lakeland, FL, Craig, of Tacoma, WA and Sharon, of Gettysburg, PA, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Private services held.

85, of Honolulu, passed away on October 20, 2017. Born in Kona, HI, raised on Oahu. After graduating St. Francis school of nursing she moved to Chicago to work, and while at the University of Chicago, she met the love of her life, Dr. Leslie Higa. After marrying and starting their family they relocated to Iowa City, IA, where they lived for over 35 years. She was a retired RN for the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and remained a loyal Hawkeye fan her entire life. Preceded in death by husband, Leslie and siblings; Robert, Charley, Gloria, Alice, Albert, John and Richard. She is survived by sons Mark and Elliott, daughter Elizabeth, hanai son Dennis, grandchildren, Kelsie Kei and Christopher, brother Clifford and sisters Eva Yoon and Pat Saunders.
