He is survived by his wife, Ethel Kinue Maruoka; daughter, Lynn; step-son, Ron Okubo; step- daughter Carolyn (Phil) Tokunaga; and by 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Mitsunori; daughter, Corinne Inoue Alonzo; and grandchild, Sarah; sister, Ellen Niioka; brothers, Dennis and Galen Tsujiuchi. Raynard Smith

64, of Aiea passed away on Sunday June 18, 2017 at Palimomi Hospital. He was born in Honolulu on July 28, 1952 and graduated from Castle High School in 1970. He worked at Times Supermarket since he was 16 yrs. old, and continued there for 48 yrs. He was the Manager of the Meat Dept. at the Aiea Times at the time of his passing. He is survived by his loving wife Carol, their companion Patches, brothers Wendell (Patti) Smith, Robert (Dana) Smith, Sam (Betty) Davis, sisters Sylvia (Henry) Chock, Sheila (Mickey) Scanlan, and Cynthia Smith (Rusty); many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at Hosoi Mortuary on Wednesday July 5, 2017. Visitation at 5pm. Service will be at 6pm. Casual attire.

A retired partner at Goodsill, Anderson, Quinn & Stifel Law Firm passed away at home on June 4, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was 94. He was born on April 27, 1923 in Waialua, Hawaii, as the 6th child of an immigrant Japanese Buddhist minister, Ryuten Kashiwa, and his wife Yukiko. Genro was probably one of the oldest surviving members of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, a largely Japanese American unit that served during WWII. He is survived by his wife Muriel, son, Peter (Jill) Kashiwa, daughter Janie (Gansin Li) Kashiwa-Li, and three grand- children, Jason, Bradley, and Kevin Li. His youngest daughter, Sheila Kashiwa, predeceased him in 2004. Visitation 2 pm on Saturday (July 8) at Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin. Services will be held at 3 pm. No flowers. Aloha Attire.
