Martha Aiko Miyahira
89, the daughter of the late Matsu and Kana Miyahira of Kapaa, Kauai died in Aiea, Oahu on November 2, 2017. She was born on September 16, 1928 in Kapaa, Kauai. She was the fifth child of a family of ten children. She attended Kapaa Elementary and High School. She was a student of the first Kapaa High School graduating class; and was the Editor of Kapaa high School's first Annual (1946 Year Book). She briefly attended the University of Hawaii right after high school and subsequently worked at various banks and department stores in Honolulu and on Kauai. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Toshio, Kenneth, Nelson, Harry, Samuel, and Paul, sisters; Dora Tengan and Elizabeth Chang. She is survived by her brother, Richard of Camarillo, California. A graveside memorial service is planned for Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM, Family Grave, Kapaa-Kealia Cemetery, Hauaala Road. Interment to follow. 96, of Aiea, a World War II Army veteran with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and a retired accountant for Hickam Air Force Base, passed away on November 8, 2017 at home. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the Battle Star, the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon. He was born in Lahaina, Maui. He is survived by his wife, Miyoko; son, Earle (Vandi); brother, Benny; sister, Doris Kovack; and grandchildren, Davin, Amber, Aaron and Micah. She is survived by son, Clyde (Roberta); daughter, Blanche (Bill) Brennan; daughter-in-law, Willa; sister, Jeanette (Henry) Higa; and by nine grand- children and five great-grand- children. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Abraham, and sons, Keith and Roy. Private services were held.

Chiyeko Hayamoto
Mrs. Chiyeko (Ogawa) Hayamoto passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 18th, at 97 years of age. She was the daugher of Senjiro and Haru Ogawa. Mrs. Hayamoto was born in Honolulu in 1920. She was the widow of Hiroshi "Raymond" Hayamoto, who built the house above Kaimuki where she lived until her passing. She devoted her professional life to First Hawaiian Bank, and worked at the downtown Honolulu branch until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Hoichi, Jiro, Seiji and Richard Ogawa. She is survived by her sister, Gladys Shigeko Ogawa; her nephews. Michael, Jonathan, Miles, Kenneth, and David Ogawa, and her nieces, Joycelyn (Ogawa) Yee, Claire (Ogawa) Kanoya, Valerie (Ogawa) Frazier, and Lynne Ogawa. She was a member of the Jodo Mission, where private services were held by the family.
